cycling dry rock

I have been cycleing my dry rock for about a month now so its not quite cycled yet.
Do i need to put a piece of live rock to seed the dry rock or will it seed itself?

Im trying at all cost to keep my new tank totaly pest free for ever! LOL

If you added ammonia or a raw shrimp. You should be fine.

I have been adding frozen brine and some pellets too sometimes

You'd have to test the water to determine if its cycled.

Ive found that when cycling a new tank, its good to jot the numbers down and plug then into a chart like the one below to keep track of the process.

REEF, they way i have always done it on all tanks with good success is doing a 5-10% WC at about the 1 month mark of setting up the tank. BY this time the tank has had plenty of time to cycle on its own..HOWever dont go to crazy with it, remember this will not be a stable mature tank yet so keep it in small quantities (hence 5-10). This works for me , im by no means saying its the best way BUT for me it works.
