Hello everyone,
I have have 55 gallon of mixed reef with fish tank for the past 3 years, and now upgrading to 125 gallon.
Last night I had about 65 gallon of 125 gallon tank water and started with cycle by adding 40lbs of cured and cleaned pukani live rocks (from premium aquatics), installed 250xf gyro pump, etc. I still have about 45-50lbs live rocks, manado beautiful rocks that I don't want to lose, and it's in my old 55 gallon tank, but I first need to clean it as I let it be overgrown with some brown "mushrooms" that literally cover all rocks and even pumps. So, here my two questions:
1. Will adding the rest of 25 -35 gallons of water later tonight do something bad to the tank that probably already started with cycle as today?
2. How can I safely add these live rocks from my 55 gallon after cleaning them from these "mushrooms" on it, but not to "crash" the cycle of tank? Can I just cleaned them good, wash and put them in new tank with my pukani live rocks...
I'd appreciate any help!
Best,
Almir
