Cycling new tank

Hi. I have a healthy and established 120 litre reef tank and have just started cycling my new 300 litre. Can I put the water I take out of my 120 during my weekly water changes and put it in the 300. Would it help speed up the process? Any advice gratefully appreciated!

Water won't do much.If you have some sand and rock put that in. Or if you have some mature filter media that will do the trick to.

Most of the beneficial bacteria is on the surfaces of the rocks/sand and very little is free floating in the water..
So as stated above its not needed and won't do much if any good..

Don't rush... NOTHING good happens fast in this hobby..

You would help a lot more by moving a rock or two from your established tank to the new cycling tank.

I'm just going to +3 this.. I rushed with my 26 gallon and lost fish. I'm about 6 months into it now and stable.
