Cycling with TurboStart

Hello everyone. I am currently on day two of having my new tank set up. I used caribsea life rock, caribsea live sand and added turbostart 900 to it .

I'm not running any lights and I only have a small bag of ceramic bio media in the sump area of the tank.

Has anyone else done this for cycling a new tank that would like to share some info ? I hope I'm doing it right .

Thanks !

The ceramic bio media is redundant, as your live rock will host all of your biological filtration.

The turbo start will help introduce large amounts of nitrifying bacteria into the system. Once you start dosing the ammonia, the bacteria will then begin the conversion to nitrite then nitrate. Tests should all show 0 for at least 24 hrs before adding any fish or CUC. Remember to add livestock in a staggered manner, meaning don’t overstock too quickly...that’s because your bio filtration is not seasoned enough to handle the waste that too many fish will produce.
