cycling?

wondering how fast a small 40 gallon will cycle using water from my two other tanks and fuges as well as live rock from these? Had my other tanks set up for a few years now. both systems are pod breeding grounds as I only have one fish a shrimp goby. Just wondering was thinking about setting up a species only tank.

It will cycle fast,if it cycles at all,it is the rock that is going to help the cycle not the water.

Went and got the new current 34 seamless nano. Took all bio media out of back, filled with rubble frrom my other tanks. All water came from water changes on my other tanks and live rock. Gonna see how fast this baby cycles.Everything in this tank came from my others, now to see how fast this tank cycles.:)

It will cycle fast since you decided to go this way.

I mean your rock is already established and cured, your water is teaming with bacteria as well as your rock.

I'd definitely be testing over the next week or two, to be sure levels don't rise, but I don't suspect you'll have any problems through the transition into a new tank.
