Is this a Cyphastrea ocellina and if so what are the ideal conditions for keeping them, lighting, flow, etc. The LFS tank it came from was under 250MH and 3 VHO with decent current.

none of the polyps were open in those pictures. It had only been in the tank a few hours at that point. I'll have to look up the microthalma and japonica. The open polyps do look like the picture that neyugn0w01 posted as well, just solid green on green.

They'll take lots of flow, but acclimate them slowly to strong lighting. I'd say your's is either ocellina or japonica.

How long have you had this colony?Ive had mine for about a week so this little guy has alot of catcing up to do.

My microthalma has at least tripled in the last two months, it's by far the fastest growing thing I've ever placed in my tank. Anything growing in the vicinity of an OK State logo will admittedly have a disadvantage, though ;)

jj your coral is not the same species imo.i think yours is c. occelina were as the other guys posted i think this one is c.japonica either way killer looking colony!
