D-35 Clown hosting Anemone

Hello, I'm new to this site and reef tank. In fact, this is my first 45 cube tank.

I had my reef tank for 40 days now. I believe I'm still going thru nitrogen cycle however I'm very diligent with weekly 30% water change.

After purchasing blue tip anemone from the local shop, my other two orange colored clownfish never show any interest. Per shop owner's recommendation, I got another true clownfish. Video was taken two days after.

Welcome to RC..... btw the clownfish on your video happens to be a Clarkii.... Welcome and Best of Luck with your new set up :)

The anemone also is a Sebae anemone, either H. crispa, or H. malu.

It is an H. Crispa -- H. Malu is a separate species.

IME, they prefer to be on/in the sandbed, and when healthy get HUGE -- the one I had took up 1/3 of my 75.

I would keep an eye on things -- the anemone looks a bit stressed (( but not too bad )), but that could change in a hurry; borderline too small for that clown, and such a new tank.

Yes, I am aware that H. malu and H. crispa are two seperate species, but I wasn't too sure on the correct id. I was thinking crispa also though, but didn't want to throw out the possibility that it was a malu.

Wasn't sure when you used the common name "Sebae" -- sense it applies to both -- hence the reason I try to avoid using that name, too much confusion.

I probably should have worded it better, hence the confusion

Crispa's do get pretty large, plus as plat said your clowns are clarkii's. I would recommend finding a new LFS since they apparently do not know the difference between a true perc and clarks clown, and a bubble anemone and leathery sea anemone (crispa). The clowns are nice though.
