Dactylopus dactylopus

CerealKiller024,

The Dactylopus dactylopus or Dragonet should be kept in a 50-gallon aquarium or larger. They prefer plenty of live rock to reside in or graze upon along with a sandy bottom. The diet should consist of food preparations for a Carnivore. In our Aquaculture Coral & Marine Facility we generally feed frozen Mysis and Brine Shrimp. At this time we are unable to confirm the exact diet of the Dragonet. However, we would be happy to verify this on Monday and repost any additional information if necessary.

Have a great day!

CerealKiller024,

Thank you for your patience. The Dactylopus dactylopus is currently eating frozen mysis shrimp very well in our Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life Facility. This is a fascinating fish that will give you hours of entertainment watching it walk about the tank on its finger like pelvic fins and burying itself in the sand at night.

We hope this added information is helpful.
