I'm coming over here to Reef Central and i thought i'd introduce myself.
I'm from the south east of England.
I started Doing this fish keeping thing about 8years ago.
I walked into a LFS and saw a Lion fish, and this was pretty much the day i was doomed to enter this hobbie... : )
Life started with all the usual soft corals, zoo's, mushrooms, polyps and xenias and a few smaller tangs and gobies...
I been through 3 smaller tanks already and began to build my current display during the summer last year.
I finally filled it around the autumn time, then went instantly though wonderful bouts of disease and then finally photo Bacterias that took a foot hold hard in the tank.
Having dealt with many things already in this hobbie (even these) and experienced a lot of great pleasure with previous really pleasant displays i unfortunatly found that i began to hit trouble times with this one...
4 and a half weeks ago i gave it a hard hit back, after 3 weeks of endless cleaning and water changing and other work, and my whole general philosophy towards my existing methods i have kinda effectively wiped the slate clean.
My tank has begun it's life again as of last week with these issues (i hope) resolved.
It's my interest now to develope some fresh understanding.
I hope that i can use the search facility here to develope my hobby and if i come to ask questions at least you can see who i am...
My tank measures 50 x 50 x 30 inches.
Total water volume is 1200 litres.
Here is my tank on sunday last week... 24/05/09.
Recovering slowy now, and i hope with some time on Reef Central tings can develope promisingly..... : )
