Ever heard of a damsel eating SPS polyps? I introduced a 4 stripe, black and white damsel to my tank today and he immediately went into a bridsnest colony and started nipping the branches. I thought it odd, as damsels are supposed to be reef safe. I watched him for a while. He will swim between the branches and nip at the polyps every 2-3 seconds. Its hard to see, but I swear after he nips, a white hole appears where a green polyp was.

Can he really be eating the corals?

Could be pieces of food stuck in the colony. Damsels are usually pretty aggressive when they feed. I've had one bully a clown twice it's size. Or could need to be fed more often.
