damsel eating xenia

hey guys. I bought a feather duster with pusling xenia growing on it. put it in the tank, black and white damsel would not leave it alone. I put it in a speciman tank for about a week and it did well. Introduced to back to the tank and within two minutes the damsel pretty much plucked every branch of the xenia off. Anything I need to worry about as far as the damsel, tank, or xenia goes? If the damsel bit off parts and they float off, can they grow in places that they land?

Wow that is strange, most Damsels are reef safe, I have never herd of a xenia eating one. Xenia's are amazingly regeneration powers so it could regenerate. I have seen colonies grow from what appeared to be nothing. So it is worth a try.
