Daplatapus's 210 upgrade

So, I was finally able to have a good long chat with a couple tank manufacturer's and one of them in a city a couple hours away cut up some eurobraces for me and some glass for my new overflow box. Got everything siliconed up last week. Got the overflow box siliconed on tonight. I'll give it a few days and fill 'er up in the garage with a couple MP40's with a nice little wave. We'll see if she holds.
Here's a couple pics of the overflow box construction :

And a couple while doing the eurobrace. I used a couple of the cross braces as temp braces while I siliconed the front and back on:

Hi Dear
Could you tell me what tools that you re using to take out Black plastic on top tank. My tank need to rebuild it and I want to take out black plastic and add eurobrace like you did. But a slicon is hard to take off. If you could provide me what tools and step how you did it. I really appericate it. Thank alot

Pretty stoked right now :D

I finally got my lights finished, Jarduino controller finished and lights hung

As mentioned a while back, I went with pocket door rails and wheels. That allows me to push the lights back on the rails to work in the tank.

One fixture up:

So right now that puts my lights around 12" off the water. I do have some short pieces of ready rod and couplers to drop the lights if I need/want to.

3 fixtures up:

Beautiful! Job well done.
I like your front access. I am thinking of making something similar. If you don't mind share some detail? especially the hardware used. Thanks

Thanks guys
Flooddc: the hardware is made by Grass. The flap stays are the Kinvaro T-105. They have much fancier ones (just look up Kinvaro) but where I ended up putting them and with the moisture in the hood, I wanted something simple and open so I can see any corrosion if/when it occurs. Most of the others hid the internal mechanism with a plastic housing. The hinges are just a plain 105 degree full overlay hinge, also made by Grass.

Here's a couple closer pics of the door hardware. I had to make a bit of a inside extension to mount the european style hinge and the flap stays.

Grass also makes a full up and over style door so it is completely out of the way, but I felt for my application it wasn't necessary. Even with the hinges and stays, I can remove the door in less than 20 seconds. There is a little clip that screw to the inside of the door and it has a little ball style fitting that pokes out the side of it that fits into a spring loaded socket on the flap stay. Just give it a good solid push in and it pops out. And the hinges have a quick connect system as well. All in all a great set. I really like them.
The only con is the instructions are dutch pictographs, lol, that for some reason my Canadian brain had a hard time interpreting. I built a full size mock up in the shop before I tried it on my stand or doors.

Sweet. There's no question the minimalist look can be very striking.

How are you liking the Gyre pump?

Thanks Dave. I'm liking the layout. There's a couple tangs going in there so hopefully they'll enjoy the swimming room

I'm reserving judgment on the Gyre for now. I threw it it when I starting cycling the tank and haven't had the time to play with it and it's settings. I bought it used from a guy who thought it was too big for his system. I'm not even sure what blade configuration is in it. I had to turn it down a bit because I thought it was noisy, but after reading a bunch on it, I half expected that with the 1/2" glass on my tank. I have a feeling I'll end up getting the 2nd generation mount for it to hopefully quieten it down on higher settings.
I've got 3 MP-40's I can stick in there too if I need to.
