DARC - Frag Swap & Garage Sale - October 16th, 11-4

Chair, MACNA 2014
Greetings!

Please plan on joining us for our October event, the semi-annual Frag Swap & Garage sale. We will have several local coral vendors as well as local hobbyists selling and trading corals. This is a free event to both buyers and sellers!

SCMAS has generously donated the use of their frag tanks for members to sell frags from. Tanks, heaters, light and saltwater will be provided; you provide the frags! Please reserve your space by posting here or dropping us a note.

Have some old aquarium equipment that's sitting around taking up space? Bring it to the swap! Looking for good prices on used gear?... Be sure to investigate the deals!

Once again, we are being hosted by the local High School Reef Club. Please stop by and help support the future reefers.

When: Saturday, October 16th
11am - 4pm
Where: Highlands Ranch High School
9375 Cresthill Ln
Highlands Ranch, CO

Is the school still looking for coral donations. I have a few xenias and maybe a devils hand that I was thinking about bringing to them.

They would willingly take any corals you choose to donate. Thanks for thinking of them!

Quick update for everyone. We won't be setting up the community frag tanks we planned on borrowing from SCMAS. Most folks have their own and there just isn't enough demand to get them from Colorado Springs and then return them.

You are still welcome to bring your frags, you will just need your own tank and lights.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.....

Donations to Highlands Ranch High School

The frag swap is being held at our High School, of which we have set up 9 marine tanks for kids to enjoy and learn from. Our newest tank has cycled, and is ready for fish, snails, crabs....anything you might have to donate, we would appreciate immensely!!!!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the swap yesterday. It was a great turnout with lots of good deals on corals. The raffle generated a few hundred dollars for the school and the kids enjoyed selling live rock and other donated items.

Thanks again to our sponsors for donating to the event, our local coral vendors and the individual DARC members as well!

It was great to see folks from MASC and SCMAS stop by too. Hope everyone had fun.

-Rob

And a big thanks from the Highlands Ranch H.S. Science Dept to all of the generous people who donated frags to our school.
