Data on Ground Probes

Does anyone know of any data for using Ground Probes to prevent or treat head & lateral line disease or other diseases? I've heard anecdotal stories, but haven't seen any actual data. (I recognize that there may not be any, given the nature of our hobby, but it'd be nice if there were something)

My personal opinion is that if you need a grounding probe, you're doing it wrong. Grounding probes can be dangerous if you install them improperly.

The best cures for HLLE are good nutrition and husbandry. There's some evidence out there that activated carbon fines can cause HLLE so if you are running carbon, be sure to switch to the pelleted ROX stuff that doesn't produce carbon fines as easily as regular old activated carbon. And be sure to tumble your carbon slowly so it doesn't break up :)
