day/night reefs

I work at a public aquarium in Scotland and am currently developing 2 new small exhibits based on - Day and Night focusing on the day and night activities on a coral reef using red lighting to demonstrate different behaviours and full daylighting in the other tank.

Both new tanks will be setup identical. same animals in each tank
tanks are approx 36"x36"x36" around 125g in volume.

i am looking for suggestions of animals that could be exhibited either fish or coral that would display different behaviours at day and night and would make an interesting educational piece.

any suggestions would be greately appreciated.

One of my favorite examples is Plerogyra sinuosa. Not only is it hardy, but it has inflated vesicles in the daytime and many tentacles at night. I guess if you avoided smaller fishes, you could try some of the dwarf lionfish or even soldierfish.
