DC5500S Skimmer pump failure

I have ordered PS-OCT-DCS-250INT (Reef Octopus Diablo DCS250-INT 10" IN-Sump Protein Skimmer with DC Pump (Diablo DC Skimmer Pump-DC5500S), up to 400gal @$585.99 on 07/08/2013. and installed in sump on almost after two months, because I was building my new system.

Since then until today morning pump was working excellent but as usual when I check my tank I noticed that pump is not working. Until last night it was working perfectly. I have checked all the possibilities. No coraline built up on pump. It was totally cleaned but I don't know what is and why it's stop working.


No Coralline builtup at all.




Speed controller is working properly but no life in pump... see below after NO life at all.



Is there a sensor I can clean for the run-dry protection? If not, can we get the process started to replace the pump? its less than 9 months old.

I don't know what will end up for this ticket. Since I do not have any other pump and skimmer to hookup with my tank so I already made another order today.

I really like my skimmer and pump but unfortunately pump made me disappointed.

I am sorry to hear that your pump just stopped working on you. I understand how important a skimmer can be on a tank this size and your urge to get this taking care of ASAP. Unfortunately we only warranty items for the first 30 days and after that warranty's go to the manufacture. CoralVue is the company you would need to contact to get your pump taken care of either if it needs to be rebuilt or replaced in full. You will need to go to CoralVue.com and process a warranty claim on their web site and they will contact you back with what info they will need from you. If there is any problems getting a hold of them or you need some more info please feel free to give us a call at 847-775-0640. Yet again I am very sorry to hear about this and I hope your issue gets resolved ASAP.

I am please to say and very much thankful to Coralvue and the team there. They have given tremendous support in my cause.

I have received the message from parts departments about to receive new pump as replacement....
