Those are mechanical relay ports. They can handle low current devices such as powerheads better than electronic relays but you dont want to plug anything in that will be switching on and off a lot as mechanical relays wear out quicker that electronic ones.
You may also want to stay away from devices that have a high current startup like ballasts and chillers. An IceCap ballast can for example have a 40A initial spike when 1st turning on; this will result in the relay arcing and getting stuck; usually in the ON state.
