DC8 soft start feature

I noticed that the new DC8 has a "soft start" feature.
Does the DC4HD have this feature?

Also, how is the soft start designed?
Does it start the device at X% for X amount of seconds before it sends full power to the device?
If it does, do you have the values of X?
Thanks.....

No, the DC4s don't have 'soft start'. In fact there aren't any controller's in the market that implement true soft as it is way too expensive to implement. True soft start involves slowly ramping the frequency up at full voltage. What is done on the DC8 is turn the power on at the zero crossing of the AC waveform.

So the new DC8 uses triacs or scr's to control all the outlets instead of relays? That's cool. No more annoying clicks. Are there indicators to let you know when an outlet is on?

The DC8 uses triacs, and yes they are silent. There is one LED indicator on the DC8 to show that it is powered, and it flashes when X10 traffic is flowing. The AquaController's display has status indicators for all the all controlled devices.
