I've been in the hobby for 6 years, and unless someone pointed the misbar out, I would look right past it.

iam waiting for a flame that is red enough for me all i have seen are 2 orange for my tastes but when the red red red red red color morph comes up ill burn up the key borad ordering it..barred miss barred makes no diffrence even color morphs in the bars would not make a diffrence aslong as the body was red enough for me

Tim, that is the regional variant found in Marquesas...
Here are a few of my flames...
First, true Hawaiians Tim mentioned... red straight through... first is a male...
Next is a female...
Here are two morphs... this one has held its color well... what a cool fish!
And a little guy similar to the Marquesas variant, but plucked from the Marshall Islands...

I was originally thinking of getting a regular flame (hawaiian though), but after seeing that mis-bar (with bad timing 
) I may just have to hold out a little longer lol I'd love to get the rusty hybrid but thats out of my budget for a while lol The wife would kill me if she knew I was even considering spending $90 for "just a fish" LOL I check DD daily and will be putting a little back in hopes of seeing another pop up when the timing is right thats for sure!

I wasn't saying it is a hybrid, just saying it's interesting that this fish looks so similar to the hybrids and this fish isn't even one...
Nice flames copps. Gotta love those hawaii ones. And that one missing most of the blue and black in the dorsal and anal is weird!
But question... your little guy with just the spot... did he develop striping later? It seems he is showing faint markings or striping. Where that Marquesas variant has random blotches and no hint of striping. (Looked up the Marquesas variant in my books and saw all the different pics and ranges of blacks and they don't seem to show hints of striping, but more random stripes or none at all besides the spot.) Also Frank's pic on RCT cite shows a fish that looks similar to yours but smaller having developed the spot but not all the stripes yet, but they are there just faint. So did he hold that color or if it is a newer fish and hasn't developed much what do you think will happen? If you think it will look different than a normal flame why do you think so?
Also where are the flames from that show lots of black? Like big thick stripes. Similar to this:

I have had every variant in between for flame angels from completely red to crazy black patterns... the one pictured on DD is a relatively common one for me out of christmas island. The complete red ones are hard to come by though!
Could you pm me info as to where you get them from/ how I could get one easily when the time comes?

The pattern shown here is probably the most common variant. We refer to it as "tiger". The black bars have a "V" shape or split like a tiger pattern.
They are some of my favorites. There are some really nice ones. Especially the ones with tiger pattern on both sides or multiple splits.

itachi and I were at the LFS and saw this flame angel. It looked so different that he just had to have it. (Sorry for blurry photos as it is in his office tank that's small and curbed glass.)
