De Nitrater

Yeah saw it when I bought his corals. I bought one that is not set up yet. My nitrates had been going back and fourth between 10-20 so I'm giving it a shot. My tank has finally settled down and is doing great. Even have cyno pretty much under control.

Hope your doing well.

They work if you know how to use them;) If you don't know how to use them, or if you don't understand some of the basic chemistry, then I would recommend a safer approach as there are some deleterious effects that can happen if mismanaged.

Down. Mine was dropping almost 1.5 points a day when I started using it.

So if you try one I recommend testing alk at least twice a day till you get everything dialed in.

Hi G, I am having great results with my sulfur denitrator. My nitrates were 100% even after trying everything I knew about how to lower them. I read a lot about the denitrator before I bought one. I now know that everyone has a different experience them. I found out it's all about how to read what it's doing and how to adjust it. It's not going to drop your nitrates down in three weeks like most people have clammed. Not when you have a larger tank like you and I. Yours is much bigger then mine. G my tanks nitrates are at 12.5 from 100. I also do not do water changes. Before you buy a reactor, please talk to me about which one to buy. Some are not made good. Plus I would really like to see your tank. Don't worry about the KH dropping. As of now, I have not had to make any adjustments for KH, using a calcium reactor. Give me a call and we'll hook up. I tell you everything I know about them. But I will say I'm not a pro with them yet. I'm learning everyday.

I have one and it's up and running. Mine is a Schplitter. Supposedly handles 400 gallons. My nitrates are about 10 but were up to 20 in the past few weeksand are now down to 10. The reactor has only been running a few days so I'm sure it hasn't effected anything yet.

Who is you tank going? Did you replace your corals? What was the angel eating that made you decide to get rid of it?
