De-worming

I have heard of this being mentioned and how important it is to do on new seahorses, but I have no idea what it is or how to do it. Could anyone inform me on how to deworm seahorses and what products do I need?

Ok so I just read that thread and am still a bit fuzzy but from what I pulled out I need Panacur, which I can get at drsfosterandsmith, metronidazole, which I can get at bigals, and prazipro, I don't know where to get this. From what I read you are supposed to dose each one for three weeks. One after another. Does it matter which order? Also from what I understand I am supposed to gut brine shrimp with the medicines. Well I feed frozen mysis, I can feed frozen brine if I need to. Would it matter if the frozen brine is spirulina enriched or not. Also how do I get the medicines into the frozen brine. From what I understand the seahorses need to ingest the medications. Do I just inject the frozen brine with a small needle. That seems like an impossible task. Would I have to turn to live food for this then?

You can get prazipro anywhere, including probably DFS & Big Al's. You can get all three medications at www.seahorsesource.com

You need to use live adult brine shrimp. Put the med in 1 gallon of water with one feeding of live brine shrimp and leave the shrimp in the water for at least two hours. Then scoop out the shrimp with a brine shrimp net, rinse, and feed. Do this twice, 12 hours apart. Repeat 1 week later, then repeat 1 week later again (for a total of 3 weeks). For fenbendizole, use 2mL in 1 gallon of water, for metronidazole, use 1 tablet or 1/4 teaspoon in 1 gallon of water, for praziquantel, use 10mL in one gallon of water.
