Dead clam

So my first clam is now a goner. I bought this small crocea at the LFS last week, and after acclimating it my bicolor blenny immediately starting nipping at the mantle. It took me two days to catch the blenny, and I think those two days were all it took to do my clam in. It's now completely non-responsive and laying on it's side.

Does a dead clam release anything harmful into the aquarium? Should I remove it or leave it? Could two days of being picked on be enough to kill a baby crocea?

I lost one of my croceas while I was away for Thanksgiving for 4 days. When I came back it was already eaten by all the inverts in the tank but all my livestocks are fine. It might raise your tanks ammonia but I don't think it'll do anything crazy. Test the water and do a water change if you are concerned or if anything doesn't look happy.

bicolor blennies are definitely on the 'not with clams' list. the nipping combined with the stress of the move could kill the clam.

if you are sure the clam is dead, you should remove it.

But make sure they are dead, I heard of many miraculous clam stories.
