Dead fish..?

Zach Vs Ponies

I had a large-sized powder blue tang die today, and was thinking on either burying its body or burning it. But, I know there is a lot of places that research and dissect fish. I didn't know if there was a place I could send my dead fish's body to so it's body can be used for research.

I am not searching for a place to have a necropsy with results, I'm just wondering if someone has any ideas of a research institution that could use a fish's body for research or educational purposes.

Thanks.

Steve Husky, a professor at Western Kentucky University uses larger fish for skeletal studies for his students. He uses dung beetles to clean the skeleton. His contact info is:

Or you could do it yourself and clear coat it. After you have removed the skin, flesh, and organs.

Trigger fish are easy since many of their bones are fused.

^ taken a step further; encased in acrylic would make a excellent paperweight ....
great idea

you could try your local school, elementary for dissection, or a college with a biology program might have a collection
