Got my first saltwater fish, a pair of clowns on Saturday. Got them home acclimated them in their bags for 2 1/2 hours adding a small amount of water every 20 minutes. Put them in my QT tank that has a heater and aquaclear filter. The sponge in the filter has been in the filter of my DT for the last month. Saturday night and Sunday morning they both pretty much stayed by the PVC pipe and did not move around much. Last night the bigger one was venturing out some, looked healthy and active. This morning I wake up and he is dead on his side. I took a water test and their was no signs of ammonia (used the water from my DT tank). I get home tonight and the smaller one is out and about but he seems to be putting his mouth up at the surface of the water a lot. Is he getting enough air? Do I need a powerhead in there? What am I missing or am I just paranoid? :eek2:
