dead rock

Ok, so i just got some dead rock from my brother he said he took out of his tank in September because it had some green algae and bubble algae on it. I just have it a very good scrub and have it in fresh (not saltwater). What other steps should i take before i add to my biocube?

If you can cure it for a while in a separate container, I would advise that. There will certainly be more die off when you add it to the tank. I'd try putting it in a tub with a heater and a piece of established rock.

I am trying to borrow also a small 10 gallon aquarium he has so i can put them there i was reading to do this for about 2 weeks or so. Just want to make sure i don't hurt my set up i have now.

Ok this is my dead rock that's been in saltwater for about 2 weeks now, i have done 2 water changes so far. How much longer do you suggest i keep it there before i put in my biocube?

P.s. The sort of red/orange color you see in the bottom is from the home depot bucket its sitting on and i did not use any lights.

Did you add s small piece of good live rock to it to seed it? If you check the water for ammonia you will know if it is totally safe to add to your cube

In front of each powerhead there is small piece of live rock as far as testing for the ammonia unfortunately i don't have any more tests left for it so i will need to buy more.
