dead rock

Was wondering how to go about curing dead lr. just got a bunch of dead LR have it in a tub w saltwater and some flow. How long should it take before trying to add some in my Dt and fuge. Has a slight smell after day 1 gonna change some water today.

Do you have any live rock in the tub with the dead rock to seed it? Let your N cycle tests (ammonia nitrite nitrate all @ 0) be your guide.
