Dead silent return pump 450-600 gph?

There is a used velocity T2 f/s in the classifieds, I think it was $60-80 shipped

I have a eheim 1250 or is it a 1260, I don't know. It's not silent but queit. I have it circulating the water in my tank & I hear a slight hum maybe up to 6ft away.

The velocity pump you do not hear

Maybe I'm oldschool, but I have been running an AquaMedic 2500 for
the last 5 years that is dead silent.
Comes with anti-vibration feet, costs half the price, draws half the watts
& matches the flow of the Eheim 1260; not to mention its a German built pump too.
Great pump and for the price I bought 2 to keep 1 on the shelf as a backup.

I've tried most all the pumps in this gph range and found the new Eheim Compact+ 2000 pump to be quieter than the Tunze silence. No internal pump is going to be dead silent, they all have a little hum, but I was able to get my compact + 2000 to be as quiet as you can get a pump. I returned my Tunze Silence.

Noise well it it's relative - you will not find a dead silent in-sump pump. I had an old Mag Drive return and thought my Vortech's and Bubble Blaster, (skimmer pump), were whisper quiet. I replaced the Mag with a Sicce Silent (still has audible hum), but my Vortech's & Bubble Blaster all of sudden became louder. In the evenings with the TV on it's a non factor. On a quiet Sunday morning when trying to read a book or the paper I find another room.

Tunze Silence was far too loud, I think mine was about ~70db. I own a Red Dragon 6.5 (1700GPH I think) and it's the most silent thing in the system. If you don't want to spend the money on a Red Dragon you could get a Laguna Maxflo pond pump, it's basically has the same guts as a Red Dragon, but it comes in this hamburger contraption that you have to take it out of. The only thing that is missing is the rubber feet, so you will have to put in on something to dampen the vibration. I didn't bother with mine as it was quiet enough. I take my noise very seriously after having replaced the following equipment for being too loud: MP60s, Reeflo Dart Gold, and the Tunze Silence.

im in the same boat- Reeflo snapper- Baldor motor and i have an AO smith motor alos- the hum is killing me!! Cant stand it anymore. Looking at the ATB flowstar right now and debating on putting my T4 online tomorrow even though its not enough GPH. What do you think the 1800 or 3200 GPH? i have a little head pressure...

Dang-- i just accidentally jacked someones thread. Im sorry, maybe we can all relate and fix both at the same time...
For the little GPH you need- i ran a compact Eheim and it was pretty darn quiet. I havent witnessed a silent pump yet and i have a BKmini200 and that pump hums too!!
