dead snails

Recently all of my turbo snails died, and its not like they were killed because the turbo snails were still in their shells. This all happened overnight. My water perimeters are fine. Does anyone know what could have caused this?

snails are extremely sensative to fast changes in water parameters. Since I assume you had your tank up since August 2007, then I would look to see what changed in your tank in the last day, because, even though you say your water is fine, snails dead overnight indicate that the water is not fine

Did you have any temp changes during the evening?

i checked my water, and there have been no changes since the lat check. i have a heater and a chiller so i doubt that is the reason. I am also having an algae problem so there is no shortage of food.
