December Meeting

December meeting
It is not so much of a meeting as it is a party, but I cannot bring myself to use the term "a letter that folks use so that they do not have to use 'Christ'" mas. :spin3: anyway..................

Where: Steve W’s house
(Look at the private thread to get the street address)
PM me to get access
PM me or Steve to get the address
Note: There is a special “parking note” that should be heeded

When: December 18 @ 4pm (length – Steve’s thinking is from 4 to 8 or 9 pm)

Food: Steve will provide country ham and biscuits, a nice (hot?) slice-able beef roast, soft drinks, maybe a punch of some sort. Steve’s wife will provide a cake or two, because she likes to bake, but that may depend on time. Also provided will be
plates, napkins, etc.

Others bring their favorite finger foods. Other beverages will be BYOB.
No Joel – do not bring fingers. :fun2:

Since the meeting is only about 2 weeks away, it would probably be good to start getting a head count. Include what food you plan to bring, also please.

Anybody up for a club frag swap at the meeting?

Stephanie, my two thumbs, and I will be there. I will leave the fingers at home. :)

Xmas is easier to type, Christmas works too, but holiday party is probably best. :D

Frag swap would be fun.

Actually, I post on a Christmas forum and I learned that the X in Xmas is an ancient symbol for Christ and in no way rude towards Christians or Christmas. Now I use XMAS with wild abandon.

Think of the "X" is the greek letter "chi" for Christ. ;)

I have no problem unless you start throwing a Yalda party...

I WILL attend this one guys. I'll bring my club fees, some jalapeno poppers for food, and probably a 12er of Sweetwater's seasonal. I need to talk to my fasha because we both will more than likely be attending. Nice timing, the party is the weekend after my finals, sweet!

me and (tentatively Art)

Any suggestions for a dish? I'm drawing a blank this time around...

That's neat Scott/Mel, I never thought of the greek connection with the "X". Learned something new: "C" and "R", the first two letters of "Christ" are X (chi) and P (rho) in greek ("Christos" = ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ). This explains the early greek christian symbol:

Me too - the solstice isn't until a few days after the 18th! ;)

Since it's early on a Saturday and I work at CR, there's no way I can go.

Shocking, I know.

To: EvilMel - Sorry you can't make it. Come by after work and I'll save you a Ham Biscuit.

To: Maccellan - How about a sweet of some sort? or a tray of vegetables and dip? or whatever you like to munch on.

Sorry Olivia.

Sorry Dave.

Sorry Mel. Mel, come by late if you can. There may be some food left. We might even save you some if you promise to come. ;)

Isn't the meeting like 5-8? I don't even get off work until like 8:15-8:30.

I mean, I know I'm always late but ding dang...that's LAAAATE.
