Here's a video of my Chaetodon declivis and a Roaops Hybrid (C. tinkeri x C. burgessi x ...?) picking at coral slime and polyps of their favorite Acropora--an intermittent snack between their feedings. It does not harm the coral, only polyp extension is diminished.
The hope was to pair these two, but they appear to be the same sex and frequently show spurts of aggression. The Roaops Hybrid has the very interesting ability to change color when in "aggressive mode" turning near solid gray and the eye changes from amber to a sky blue that rivals blue topaz. This is similar to what the Japanese call "warning body color" on male Genicanthus personatus. Unfortunately, I have yet to capture this on film!
