What is with all the weird black large brush strokes used to edit the background?

Soooo much marine snow/nauplii/cyclopeeze showed up with the flash that I said to hell with it and tried to just black out the stuff. Apparently my monitor isn't calibrated so the strokes show up in the photos! my bad

edit: im wearing my glasses now but I still cant see discernable brushing. especially at this size, I can see it when Im working on the photos on full screen and exposure pushed up. Which photos stand out with the brush strokes?

Maybe my monitors are brighter than yours. The first one has actual polka dots where you just hit it with a black brush with a click of the mouse and so it left black dots in a couple places.

2nd one is OK but obvious, it doesnt look natural at all.

3rd one is really bad below the fish :)

6 and 7 arent that bad, but there are dark areas then just the normal blue blurred background, with a couple strokes between them.

Anyway, maybe it's my LCD. I havent calibrated it ever, it's just on stock factory settings.

OH Boy! I see it now! on my other computer these look terrible. haha time to go back into LR. Its funny on my Imac its undiscernable but on my "dimmer" screen macbook it all shows up. how funny

Yes, that definitely looks better, although to be honest the slight little bit of coloration left only behind the tail is distracting :)

Agree. Looks like a trail if liquid poop.

Those are some the nicest Anthias ever! In fact.... I'm converting my tank in June to a Anthias Dominant tank. They are by far my favourite Reef fish.
