I am SO glad I spotted this before I installed it:

So then... LifeReef or Eshopps?

I wonder if LifeReef can make one for rimless tanks such that the inside and outside boxes are closer together. I know they'll make them further apart for euro-brace tanks, so why not, right?

Why not get some weld-on from an acrylic or plastics place and fix it? Cost you less than $10
