The main differences I note are the appearance as the erectus is a "spinier" seahorse than the reidi with smother spines, and the erectus bear benthic fry that hitch at birth that are a little larger than the pelagic fry of reidi that don't hitch for a few weeks. Because of the latter, the erectus are normally considered easier to raise.
