definately zoa pox? please help ID

the reason i was asking - if you look at the pic some of them with the sand are not opening at all - are they dead? how should i go about those heads?
 
Those are fine, those buggers are pretty hardy and VERY invasive in growth, when I had them they would not be placed on my main rocks as they grow fast ( especially when fed ) and can take over your rock work in a dime. Hard to get rid once they get a foot hold. They would stay in my sand bed.
 
I have never actually seen a Paly with pox in real life or in pictures. Like Charles said, taking sand into their stalks is completely natural for Paly's.
