Define Indo-Pacific

This term has always somewhat confused me. Is it just an area covering many other specific locations or can you point to a map and say "The Indo-Pacific is right HERE" ? Because I could have sworn powder blue tangs (Acanthurus leucosternon) came from the Indo-Pacific (among other places possibly, but particularly the Indo-Pacific for what I need it for..). Then I look on LiveAquaria and it doesnt list it? Nor does fishbase.. but then a few places do! And that has me confused..

Like these places list it as Indo Pacific:

http://centralpets.com/animals/fish/saltwater_fish/swf2263.html
http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?articleid=2040

These dont mention it at all:

Fishbase:

So basically, define Indo-Pacific and do powder blue tangs come from the Indo-Pacific? Sorry if this is a silly question, but I really dont know, and the only stupid question is the one not asked, right? :D

Indonesia is a country....and a whole lot of islands, spread through out the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean. They range from Asia to very close to Australia. It is a very large area, not easily defined. On one side is the Pacific Ocean, on the other the Indian Ocean. Indo-Pacific refers to the Pacific Ocean side of Indonesia.
