Deflated torch that has been through a lot

long sotry short: a friends tank broke during moving and this coral had been in a blacked out tub without heating for about 24 hrs. Then it was fragged as the OG colony was way to big for my tank. All things considered, its doing OK (the flesh on the stoney part has "only" retracted about 5mm or so and is moving back, so now its about 2-3mm. Now, it fell off of its original place due to my hermit and i didnt find it until it was there for 2 days, laying in the sand. (this torch cant catch a break). Its been a week since and its looking good from a distance, but when i get closer it looks like the tentacles are not fully inflated at the base. Like one of those inflatable pool toys that have been halfway deflated and look wrinkly. I attached some pics. its been looking like this for about a week and not really any changes (good nor bad), so i think itll pull through, but just curious what it is, why it does this or if anyone has had experience with this.

Hard call but the tentacles not being retracted is positive and if the flesh isn't receding then that is positive as well. Trying not to disturb it further would be good. Torches are flaky on the best of days.
they are funny things indeed. I remember buying my first high end torches and freaking out every time they would retract or look weird. Seems like they also can have just moody days for the heck of it, especially when splitting!

In some otherwise healthy tank, somewhere right now a torch is melting for no apparent reason.
