deltec mce300. need help.

i just got my deltec mce300 today for my solana. its all set up and i plugged it in and it's really loud and i have to keep the air valve closed or it looses suction instantly. what is wrong? can i do anything? thanks!

is this the older model or the newer one?? and did you look in the d & d forum?? lots of threads on the mce 300.

Did you pour water into it before plugging it in? That is probably your issue - otherwise I'm at a loss! I have the air valve wide open on my MCE600 and no issues so far.
