Dendro. coccinea growth rates

I know a lot of factors my affect the growth rate of each individually coral. But i just wanted to know the estimated growth rate of these corals. I have had mine for about a month and a half and it has had very little growth. What are some of your growth rates?

I have had my dendros for some time now. The growth rate is very slow. In a year of feeding twice a week, the smaller heads just got a little bigger than before. I have perfect water quality and when I feed them, I give them by mysis directly. I have to fight off the shrimp, crabs, and fish so they can eat. One of my favorite corals of all time.

Feeding every single day will yield excellent growth rates. I had the same deal with mine, the heads just got bigger. Two week after feeding every day a new head popped out. This is after no new heads in 8 months.

Yeah feeding every day does make them grow in hyper drive. Also i have noticed they grow a ton of new heads after bring fragged. I believe that if you cut the tissue there is a good chance a new head will grow there. I have yet to try it but if anyone does please let me know if it works.

I wonder if you could just stab a tiny hole in the skeleton? With an ice pick maybe? Definitely worth experimenting - they are pretty tough corals.

agreed on the toughness of the dendros. i once had a ricordia melt half of the dendro and with in a week the tissue regrew. i feed almost daily but no new heads yet. my water quality isn't great though...

anyone with more than 5 heads can try poking it??
