Dendro Eating Benghaii???

I have (had) 4 Banggai cardinalfish, eating well and active. Seemed to be thriving in my tank. To my shock and dismay, yesterday, I found one trapped within the tentacles of my dendro. I immediately pulled the fish out and he was dead.

Any idea what may have happened? Is it possible that the dendro snared it somehow? Did the Cardinalifish die and then with the flow just ended up within reach? Any other idea?

Thank you for your help!!!

Not sure what you mean by dendro but the polyps of most LPS/sun corals (using the broader term) don't sting fish. They can be "sticky" and catch food that goes by. Any healthy fish can simply pull away if they get caught and that includes larger LPS like balans and even Rhizo's. I have a little clown goby that likes to hide between polyps in one of my bigger colonies. Most likely the fish died and simply got caught by one of the polyps.
