I've had this dendro for almost 2 weeks and i have been feeding it 2 time a day with a mixture of phyto, arctic pod and omega brime, with aminos. The last two day one of the three head does not want to eat. It stays open day and night is it possible it getting food one it own? My tank grows coral like crazy and feed a lot so i was wondering if i shouldn't beat myself up over trying to make it eat want im giving it. Maybe its sick of the food im giving it and should try something new? I will still try to feed it two time a day but maybe not so hard.

I'm assuming you're reffering to Dendrophyllia?

I've never had a polyp open that would not accept food... is that what your saying is happening?

If it's remaining open I'm sure it's catching some particulate matter. I wouldn't worry about it and keep offering food as you do the other polyps. Maybe try some larger meaty foods like Mysis shrimp or chopped Krill as well.

Yeah dendrophyllia, the little guy is growing like crazy and still stays open day and night, but will not take food. I guess its doing it on it own, i though these had to be target feed? Is there a posiblitiy it could eat on its own.

Absolutely it can and will eat on it's own. Mine will "broadcast" feed all day long. you can sit and watch one tentacle catch something and stick it in it's mouth. However, if I spot feed a piece of shrimp to it it will take it down without hesitation.

OK i will stop worrying, to think about it i never feed at night and all my nocturnal feeding corals and sps grow like crazy. There is tons of life running around in there later at night and ever since i turned my uv off almost a year ago there is very fine particles in suspension which is prob food.

Here is a picture the weird thing is that the one head in the front left is a lighter color and still doesn't like to eat i have to turn off all the flow and pile food on it and then it eats the other two eat like normal. After feed the light color ones mouth and tentacles swell up. Anyone have any idea what going on or how to fix it.

Here is a picture after feeding it 2 days ago

have you tried feeding it cyclopeeze multiple times throughout the day? I wouldn't mix in phyto with the food. They probably can't even digest it properly.
