I just noticed this scare/missing tissue on the side of my small dendro .
What can it be and what should I look for or do to help it ?
It eats fine and has sprouted two new heads .Thanks All .

It doesn't look like the type of tissue recession you would see from malnutrition/inadequate feeding. It looks more to me from the picture that something is "picking" at the flesh.

Could be a pest crab, nudibranch, etc. Check on it at night with a flashlight to see if you can catch the culprit in the act. Also what type of fish do you have with it? Could be a fish picking at it.

I would continue to feed it daily with a variety of meaty foods, and it should heal up quickly. As long as you find out/remove what is picking at it.

Just noticed you have a Blue Throat Trigger from another post. While they are not coral eaters per se they always pick at the rockwork looking for food. It could have seen a "pod" crawling on your Dendro and took a bite.???
