Dendrophyllia

I can't seem to get the search engine to work for me so I will just ask in a thread. Is this a viable coral to keep in a tank. What experiences does anyone have in keeping this? I like the look of a sun coral but want something that will stay open during the day.

Dendros stay open almost all day, and are a lot easier for thsat reason. Toss them some mysis or pieces of silversides and they do well.

Are there any special requirements for them? I have VHO lighting at the moment. Do they come in various colors?

They are non-photo, you have to feed them regularly, might want to place in the shade at first but will adapt to bright lighting fine, mine seems picky about flow and won't open if placed wrong.

I have my dendro colonies placed in low flow, and they are placed towards the bottom of my tank. My lighting is a Phoenix 150 watt 14k MH bulb. I feed them when I feed my fish, brine, mysis, cyclopeeze. Here's a pic with their tentacles out.

Sorry if the bluespot jawfish is "hogging" the picture! But his burrow is right below them!

The blue spot has a little cave between the dendros and aussie duncans. Likes to know whats going on in his turf...

Your pic looks awesome

Not to Hijack this thread, sorry to the OP. But how long have you had your blue spot SuperR? I've had mine for 6 months now and he's doin' great!
