I like Keys Island, though they don't have a lot of fish.
South Broadway Tropicals usually has a DESCENT selection of fish.
A lot of people seem to like Aquamart(I personally dont) and if I remember they had a pretty descent selection of fish also.

HTH

I would have to say aquamart has the best selection of fish that I have seen, plus they quarantine. As far as frags, I like Ki's Island.

Thanks Spleify and sus.

Looking for fish ATM so looks like Aquamart will be my best bet. so will try and hit it and South broadway

Leif,

What an interesting answer! I never would have expected Keys or S. Broadway to be on anyone's 'can't miss' LFS list.

Why don't you like Neptune's or Aquamart? They are the only one's who Quarantine and always have great selection.

I live super close to both Keys and S. Broadway and have never even considered buying a fish at either. (frags at Keys maybe)

My .02 is that Aquamart has a great selection and is reasonably priced. Neptunes sometimes has some unique fish or corals but runs as much as 50-100% more expensive than others.

I guess that's what makes this hobby so fascinating is that everyone has a different way of doing things!

Only being honest Mike.

I know you are not particularly fond of Keys all the time. Those guys have always been really good to me, and taken care of me. Ki and Mike are really good guys, and are like all other LFS around, just trying to get by.

South Broadway Tropicals is that old LFS that just kind of gets overlooked forgotten about and passed up. I don't get in there all that much myself either, but if I am in there neighbor hood I try and swing in.

Aquamart is a nice store and has a good selection, and I know a lot of people like it thats why I mentioned it. I personally had a bad experience with them and thats why I don't frequent them.

Neptunes is stupid crazy over priced. Nice store and nice people. But to be honest I drive past there 2 or 3 times a week and keep on going and don't even stop.

Everyone has different experiences with different stores and I was only sharing mine.

As far as fish go, I have always had some of my best luck with Animal Attraction in Greeley. It's not the Denver area, but thought I would include it.

I have been to Dons in Greeley by far it is the best shop i have visted from there to boulder. thats just my opinion.

I live in Loveland, and have had a saltwater tank now for over three years and have never been to any of the stores in Denver, we are spoiled up here in Northern Colorado.

Rehn, other than Dons what else is there? I have been to a couple others but wont mention names. one is ok, pretty dirty and the other i would not buy fish from. just my opinion though, for what ever thats worth:)

Leif,

No disrespect intended.

I greatly respect your skills and opinions as a reefer and I guess I was simply surprised at such a difference of opinion on LFS!

Maybe that's why I like this hobby so much as incredible results can be achieved in so many different ways with so many different views!

So Neptunes has good fish selection?

Yes!! Sharon has a nice selection of fish that have been QTd before they are for sale. If you lived closer, you could also ask her to hold something in QT and she will call when when it's ready to come home. Nice for folks who don't have their own QT. As pointed out however, Neptune's is expensive compared to most other stores in the area.

That said, Sharon has been in business longer than any other store in the Denver market. Mark Sherman has been around longer, but has had many stores come and go. Jerry at SBT has been around quite a while too, but doesn't always have the same quality as some others.

Turning a profit must allow one to keep the doors open I guess. :)

I really like Aquamart. They have a good selection of fish. They have just recently started getting some really nice frags so you might want to check them out.

Sounds like they all have there pluses and minuses. I have yet to walk into a perfect fish store. Great service makes up alot of it for me. I gladly pay extra for fish that are QTd. No store that i ever went to in Northern Cali QT'd fish. That is awesome. I thought only Live Aquaria did that!

Rob how is that tank going, is the stand holding up?

Well, to be honest.... the tank looks pretty good but the stand looks FANTASTIC! :D

The move went well thanks to the great folks at AquaticArt (thanks guys!). I needed the muscle to help move that small little bowfront. The fish are enjoying having their old home all dressed up.

Thanks again Leif!!
