Hello all just got a derasa clam and acclimated and placed him on the bottom of the tank where the sand bed is which is where I've read they like to stay. However, I have also read that they need quite a bit of light and want to make sure he is getting this too and am not sure he is getting all he needs at the bottom of my tank. I have a typical long 55 gal 24 inches high (effectively 18" to bottom of tank with substrate) with two current orbit saltwater led's. Should I consider placing him higher in the tank? I have had him for about three days now and he is opening up but not as fully as I saw him at the LFS...
Thanks in advance

I originally posted this in "other invertebrates" before I noted there was a specific one for tridacnid clams, he is opening up much better now but still opinions are welcome!!!
