derasa clam

today i noticed my clams shell was gaped about 3/4 of an inch where in hinges under his in current.... wondering if this is normal or not.. the other side by the excurrent looks like it is still together, is this normal, i jus picked this clam up about a week ago and his colors are still brilliant and he is still opening fine but that jus worries me, and i only seen it cause i happened to look under him from outside the tank, havent moved him since i got him.. please let me kno what you think..
