Derasa Placement

Hi folks,

My Derasa who has been in the tank for about 3 weeks has let go of the piece of rock rubble that he was attached to when I purchased him. He moved a little and then got stuck between a rock and my tank. I have since moved him back into the main lit area of substrate.

My question is this:

Should I move a Derasa to some rock for him to attach to, or are they better off in the substrate with no rock?

i thought my derasa would be ok on just the sand but he kept attaching to everything. he would attach to the other clams or the side of the tank so i gave him his own scallop shell and now he seems real happy.
