Derasa. too much light?

Is it possible to have too much light for a derasa ? This baby is about 10 inches across. Currently it is in the center of a 4 foot long tnak with two 10K 250 w MH (clam is between them) I was thinking of adding another bulb, 250W Ushio over the clam......

Is this ok?

As long as you acclimate the clam to increased lighting, it will be fine. It is extremely difficult to give any clams too much light provided it isn't a sudden increase.
