I just watched my deresa fall off it's rock.... when I went to check it out it appears that it's foot separated from the clam. What should I do?

stand it right side up up in teh sand, in my experience with derasa they were more happy to be flat on teh sand then hanging off the rock work.

looks like the byssal thread and not the foot.

are you running any GFO? ( Fe based phosphate remover )

or dosing anything whit Fe in it?

how long have you had him?

does his mantle always look like that??

no I'm not running any GFO

no dosing of Fe

I've had it for 6 months or so

mantle usually extends more than that however never extends fully IMO

is it usually curled over on itself like that??

how do you maintain Ca and Alk?

could you post another pic from above?

the tank is a 120 48x24x24 with 4x54 T5 (3 daylights + 1 actinic)

CA and Alk are maintained by a CA reactor (typically 370-400CA & 8-10dKh)

typically the mantle is not curled - it is typically over the edge by about a 1/4" all the way around

I'll try to get a shot from above

no carbon

I did a FWD about 3 months or so ago... to be honest I didn't see much of an improvement and I prefer not to do another one
