I Started a thread on the Pro's and Con's of a large tank a couple of months ago, first Thank You for all your responses.
Tank will be around 150g with 100g sump.
Here's the history and new problem; I said I was picking up a new house 4-6 months early, well turns out just bought one earlier than I thought, one year early, so I have time to set this up right.
Problem;
I had planned to have a fish room on the same floor as the tank. Unfortunately, the tank is going to end up on the second floor above the garage.
So obviously I'll need to reinforce the floor, and plumb to the sewer for a drain. What do you folks recommend for;
- plumbing safeguards so the tank doesn't drain if there's a problem
- pump size probably 8 feet of head pressure (I know depends on tank size etc.)
- should I go with an overflow or buy a drilled tank (never had drilled)
- ATO coming from below (just top in sump?)
What other concerns should I have with the equipment being a level below the tank.
If you can help I would appreciate it or point me to some threads to read
