Design questions about the elos systems overflow

Thinking of making my own nano, with an overflow fashioned after the elos tanks. Like this one:

Can anyone tell me what they have for their overflow design? Those slots on the side are to let water in, obviously. But the black 90 dregree, is that the overflow or return? If its an overflow where's the return? And what type of overflow is it (none, durso, muffled, ...).

i just started my nuvo 8 i added a live rock , live sand and salt water, its very cloudy its been about 14 hours, do you know how long it will take??

Its difficult to describe but all the intakes are "over the top" even though some are near the bottom. Here is a BRS video that show how the overflow/intakes work. You will get the idea for the most part.
